# Empty Container Release

For every export booking, the driver must drive to the depot and pick up an empty container. Once the container is picked up, the driver will then go to the shipper for loading, unless an empty import from a street turn is used.

{% hint style="info" %}
A driver should not be dispatched to pick up an empty container unless the release is in place at the depot by the SS line.
{% endhint %}

Before the driver goes to the depot, the trucking company must email an Empty Container Release request to the SS line Equipment Control department. Without this, the SS line will NOT release an empty container to a truck driver.

To send an empty container release, **Open** the work order, and **Click** *Equipment Release*.

**Review** the automatically generated email for accuracy, and **Click** *Send Email*.

A reply email will be received from the SS line confirming equipment release. Only after receiving this email confirmation should the driver be cleared to drive to the depot for pickup of the empty container.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://manual.truckerzoom.com/training/daily-workflow-training/empty-container-release.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
